Hanging Out at the Fremont Solstice Parade

Fremont Solstice Parade

We had an eventful Saturday, starting off with a trek to Fremont with Del’s Aunt Becky and friends to see the one-and-only Fremont Soltice Parade, complete with home-made float, clowns, naked bicyclists and more. Del had a front row seat for the action, but didn’t see all that interested.

All Smiles

Del’s pediatrician, Dr. Madwed, is going on a six-month sabbatical at the end of this month, so we got Del in a couple weeks early for his nine-month check-up.

As expected, everything’s looking great and The Boy is growing as much as ever. 22 lbs, 14 ounces and 28.75″ in length - a gain of almost 2 1/2 lbs and nearly 2″ since his last check-up.

First Father’s Day

First Father's Day

What a great way to spend my first Father’s Day - at the ballpark with my dad and my son. Three generations of cranky Carmonys, spending some quality "guy time" together.

I love you both…

A Day at the Park

My Mallet!

Another weekend, another round of croquet playing on a dreary Saturday afternoon here in Seattle. Some of the locals have begun referring to this as “June-uary”, and the weather has certainly felt more like fall than spring. Nonetheless, Del had a good time out and about yesterday, getting in some quality play time with Sam and just lounging around in general at Coleman Park in Seattle’s Mt. Baker.

Thank You for the Stick...

Quite the Busy Week: Crawling, Standing and Two New Teeth!

Crawling Through the Kitchen

We’re a bit late getting this posted, as it’s been a hectic last week or two here, but Del had quite the exciting post-Memorial Day week, officially starting to crawl and stand up on his own, along with revealing two budding new teeth (his top two front chompers), all in the span of 72 hours!

It’s been really amazing seeing the progression of his crawling, which went from a couple tentative shuffles forward (after lots of going backwards over the past few weeks), to getting noticeably better at crawling with each passing day.

The day after his first successful crawl, Del surprised us both by promptly pulling himself upright (by hanging onto Dianne for leverage)! Of course, now with the combination of standing and his newfound mobility, he’s getting into everything. We’re getting a crash course is exactly what all needs to be babyproofed in our condo (aside from electrical outlets, which we’ve had capped with plug covers for some time now).

It’s awesome to see him moving about as well as he does, and it’s truly exciting to know that full-fledged walking is just around the corner! Man, he’s growing up fast…
