Del’s Big Screen Appearance and a Snoozer of a Ballgame
Tonight’s Mariners-Rangers game was seemingly over before it started; 2-0 Rangers by the time we got to our seats; 10-0 by the third inning. It was clearly the lopsided score that got Del zonked out early.
The real highlight of the night came in the seventh inning, just before we packed up and headed home, as they showed a few “fan-submitted” photos on the scoreboard in center field (the M’s and Verizon Wireless have an ongoing, in-game promotion where you can email in pictures taken with your camera phone, with a selection of them being shown on-screen later in the game). We actually submitted this unbearably cute picture of Del from his previous Mariners game, and sure enough, it ended up on the big screen! His cuteness even elicited some noticeable “aawwwssss” from ladies in the stands.
The other highlight from tonight was Del getting his first taste of chili and queso (from Dianne’s hot dog). Turns out, he’s a big fan of both.
