Though, truth be told, more of it ended up on his bib, his shirt, his dad, his dad’s shirt and the couch than in his mouth.
Del had a great time at this grandparents’ house in Lakewood the past two days, and with the weather warming up, we were able to get him outside for some fun play time in the backyard…
The last few weeks have been highlighted with Delton beginning to explore different flavors and different types of foods. The staples of his diet are still formula and (organic) baby food (stage 3), but we’ve been giving him the chance to try lots of different flavors and texture; samples of our own meals.
So far, his best reaction has been to Kraft macaroni and cheese. He saw us having some for a late snack last night and began fussing and reaching for it, so we diced up some of the macaroni into small pieces and he went to town. He was so excited by it, he would complain vocally between spoonfuls if we were too slow getting the next one into his mouth.
Some of his other favorites include: tortilla soup, scrambled eggs (pictured above), mashed potatoes and gravy, ice cream (and whipped cream), kalbi (Korean barbecue beef), fresh humus (with garlic and onions), spinach/artichoke dip , peaches and avocado.
Thankfully, the list of foods and flavors he doesn’t like is (so far) considerably shorter, and consists of black beans, pancakes and bananas.
Oh, and he also loves to eat restaurant menus…
